FAQs about parental controls using content filters

Content filtering helps protect your Sprint devices from adult content and malware while browsing the web on the Sprint network. When turned on, websites visited while on the Sprint network get screened for adult content (pornography), and malware.

Attempts to visit a filtered page will result in the following message being displayed:

Your preference settings do not allow your to access the page you requested. 

Account holders can log in to My Account to change the Content Filter setting.

Content filtering does not work with emails, texts, apps or anything else which is not accessed through a web browser.

Content filtering is available for free to all Sprint customers.

From your computer, phone or tablet:

1. Visit sprint.com/mysprint. Click Sign in.
2. Enter your username and password.
3. Click My Account.
4. Click Profile & Settings.
5. Click Limits & Permissions.
6. Select Permissions.
7. Scroll and click on Block adult content and malware.
8. Follow the instructions on screen.

The content filter is not guaranteed to catch 100% of adult content and malware, but is very accurate with daily updates to the filter list.

No. The content filter only works when web pages are accessed through the Sprint network. It will not work if the device is roaming or using Wi-Fi.
