Apple iCloud Guide
Step 1: Connect your iPhone phone to Wi-Fi and your charger. If you’re switching phones, this should be the one you’re transferring from.
Step 2: Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > iCloud Storage to check that you have enough available space in iCloud for the backup. If prompted, sign in with your Apple ID and password. If you set up 2-factor authentication, look for the “Apple ID Sign in Request,” tap Allow and enter the 6-digit code.
Note—iCloud provides 5GB of storage for free. Go to Manage Storage if more is needed or look for an “Insufficient Memory” message during back up with options to upgrade iCloud storage.
Step 3: Under “Apps using iCloud,” review the list of apps and switch on any apps with content you want to back up or use on other devices, such as a new iPhone.
Step 4: Tap iCloud Backup. Make sure iCloud Backup is switched on.
Step 5: Tap Back up now. Stay connected to Wi-Fi until the process finishes.
Step 6: To check your back up, tap Settings > [your name] > iCloud > iCloud Storage > name of the device you’re using. You will see the details of the backup, including time and size.
