Sprint Mobile Advertising and Reporting & Analytics Programs
Last Updated: April 24, 2019
This Sprint Mobile Advertising and Reporting & Analytics Programs Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how Sprint will collect, access, use, or disclose your personal information, as well as your choices regarding use of your personal information, as part of our Mobile Advertising and Reporting & Analytics Programs. All privacy practices not described herein (including Sprint’s general collection, access, use, security, or disclosure of your personal information, as well as applicable choices) are governed by the Sprint Corporation Privacy Policy. This Policy governs in the event of a conflict.
Sprint’s Mobile Advertising Program
When you use your Sprint-service wireless device, you see ads displayed on websites and applications that you access with your devices. Through the Sprint Mobile Advertising Program, we offer you the opportunity to have Sprint and its advertising partners provide you with ads that are more relevant to your interests in place of the generic, random ads you might otherwise receive. You must opt-in to this program in order to participate, as indicated below. As we further describe in this policy, under this program, we use the information we collect to provide you wireless service, such as information about the websites you visit, the mobile applications you use on your Sprint-service wireless device, along with information about your use and purchase of Sprint products and services and additional details from your device, in order to serve you more relevant advertisements.
We also share this information with our advertising partners so that they can serve you more relevant ads, on the websites and apps that you visit, but, in so doing, we do not share information that directly identifies you personally, such as by your name or mobile telephone number. Rather, we use unique identifiers that are associated with your wireless device (such as a random ID like "2drdn43np2cMapen084lzpeQ8843ih" or your mobile device advertising identifier) together with Mobile Usage Information, high-level location information (triangulated information based on the cell towers serving your device or GPS data from your device) and Consumer Information, described below. We may share the advertising identifier that is associated with your device as well as demographic data provided by other companis that does not identify you personally.
Using this information, advertisers are able to more easily find the audience they are trying to reach. For example, a local sporting goods store may want to advertise only to sports fans who live within 10 miles, and we might help deliver that store’s ad to your wireless device by sharing non-personalized information with the advertiser (such as "2drdn43np2cMapen084lzpeQ8843ih is a sports enthusiast"). It may be possible for these advertisers to combine the information we share with information they collect from other sources. For instance, an advertising network may have collected information about the precise location of your device or information about the apps installed on your device and combine that with the information we provide about your network usage and/or demographic information.
The unique identifier we use for this purpose may change – the random ID is dynamic and changes periodically, and your mobile device advertising identifier changes when you opt-out of interest-based advertising or the identifier is reset by you (instructions for opt-out/reset are below).
Even if you initially opt in, you are always free to opt out of this program by utilizing Your Choices, as described below.
How information may be used | For example | Description |
To make mobile ads you see on your device more relevant based on information Sprint shares about the information we collect to provide you wireless service. You must opt in to be included in this program by following the instructions below. |
When you use your wireless device, you see ads displayed on websites and applications. A local business may want to advertise only to people who live within 10 miles, and we might help deliver that ad by sharing a unique identifier and information about your general location but without sharing any information with the advertiser that directly identifies you personally, such as by your name or mobile telephone number. | Using Mobile Usage Information and Consumer Information (including high-level location information), we can determine whether you fit within an audience an advertiser is trying to reach. The advertiser may combine this information with other information that they have collected. This means Sprint can help to provide ads that are more relevant to you. We will not share any information that directly identifies you personally. |

Sprint’s Reporting & Analytics Program
Under the Sprint Reporting & Analytics Program, we combine the Mobile Usage Information and Consumer Information, described below, in a way that does not personally identify you to prepare business and marketing reports that we may share with others. We may also share location and usage information with other companies in a way that does not personally identify you or your location. We may produce or allow others to produce limited business and marketing reports with this data. Business and marketing reports contain information about groups or categories of Sprint customers, which may be based on groups of wireless device identifiers associated with Sprint customer devices (including the resettable advertising identifier associated with your mobile device). These reports may include demographic data provided by other companies, and the companies to which we provide these reports may combine the data we provide with information they collect from other sources. In all situations, these reports do not identify you personally.
You may opt out of having your information included in the aggregated reports we share with third parties by using Your Choices below.
How information may be used | For example | Description |
To create business and marketing reports. You may opt out of this program by following the instructions provided below. |
We may aggregate customer information across a particular region and create a report showing, for example, that 10,000 Sprint subscribers from a given city visited a particular football stadium. We may share de-identified location data with a third party who uses it to create a report showing that 10,000 mobile subscribers passed a retail location on a given day. The data we provide could be combined with data provided by other wireless carriers or third parties to create a report showing how many mobile users were on or near a particular highway. |
We will combine Mobile Usage Information and Consumer Information in a way that does not personally identify you. We will use this information to prepare business and marketing reports that we may share with others. We may also share location information with other companies in a way that does not personally identify you or your location. We may produce or allow others to produce limited business and marketing reports with this data. |
