How we're getting the job done:
Top of the line spectrum.
The Sprint Network is changing how customers are using their smartphones. With more than 160 MHz of 2.5 GHz spectrum in the top 100 markets, Sprint has more licensed spectrum than any other carrier. Another important difference between Sprint’s spectrum and the other carriers’ is TDD-LTE spectrum bands which are leading candidates for future 5G formats. With TDD-LTE, Sprint’s 2.5 GHz spectrum uses unpaired channels, enabling us to apply more spectrum and capacity to downlink versus uplink. The result? Faster speeds for data in an ever-increasing data centric world.
Increased carrier aggregation.
Carrier Aggregation (CA) is important because it bonds together bands of our deep 2.5 GHz spectrum to create a wider superhighway. High-band spectrum, which carries more traffic, combined with High Performance User Equipment (HPUE), which extends our 2.5 GHz coverage by up to 30%, allows more capacity and faster speeds. Three-channel Carrier Aggregation takes a 5-lane highway and turns it into a 20-lane highway, so you’ll experience fewer (data) traffic jams. 3xCA is available in nearly 100 markets across the country.
High Performance User Equipment (HPUE) is a breakthrough innovation for smartphones and devices that has the ability to extend our 2.5 GHz coverage by up to 30%, including indoors where the majority of wireless traffic is generated. With HPUE, our customers gain the best of both worlds, allowing our 2.5 GHz spectrum to maintain all the of the speed and capacity advantages of high-band, while gaining the coverage advantages of mid-band spectrum. Sprint is in the best spectrum position for the future and HPUE will further improve the customer experience.
