The Future of Centrex

Do you have multiple locations that need to function seamlessly? Are your phone lines being blocked when you try to make a call? Are you tired of worrying about or maintaining your telephone system? Then you should know about Sprint Centrex.

What is Centrex?

Centrex is a voice communication service that directs calls through switches located at Sprint's central office instead of through a switching system located on customer premises such as PBX or Key system. With Sprint Centrex, you have immediate access to a wide variety of features, ranging from the standard to the highly sophisticated, with a minimal up-front investment.

You also don't have to worry about complex machinery occupying office space. The only equipment you'll need is a phone or attendant console. You may even be able to use a standard telephone, depending on the kind of features you need: standard phones work well with basic features, while more sophisticated ones require a Meridian Business Set (MBS) telephone. You can purchase equipment from Sprint or, if eligible, lease it.

Competitive Centrex Pricing

The appeal of Centrex is not only a robust voice solution, but a very competitive priced solution. Small businesses like the fact that it requires little to no upfront investment in equipment or installation, and can be leased on a month-to-month basis. This protects against lock-in for companies that are changing or growing rapidly. Centrex gives these customers the basic business features they need - DID numbers, four-digit dialing, call forward, call hold, etc. - without making them buy and manage their own phone system. Large businesses, like the fact that Centrex, as a central office service, can scale almost indefinitely. It can also be more cost effective for getting service to multiple locations than connecting PBXs with tie lines, or leasing off-premise extension (OPX) lines.
