Dybvig Ranks Twenty-eight in Qualifying Round

Team Sprint athlete Evan Dybvig finished 28th in men's moguls qualifications and did not compete in the finals.

Finland's Janne Lahtela won the gold, and U.S. Skier Travis Meyer took the silver.

Fellow team Sprint athlete Jonny Moseley was unable to repeat his 1998 gold medal in men’s moguls and narrowly missed a bronze by .13 of a point.

Moseley finished fourth, despite a flawless execution of his revolutionary “Dinner Roll” jump that left the crowd gasping.

After two seasons of finishing seventh in the world, Dybvig was hopeful his success would continue. Things didn't go as planned. At a training camp in Winter Park, Colo., in November, he tore a ligament in his knee. Determined to achieve his life-long dream of winning a medal, he was forced to ski through the pain. Dybvig placed third in one World Cup event and sixth in another, qualifying him for the games in Salt Lake City.
