Eco-friendly Devices

LG Remarq

The LG Remarq™ is Sprint’s second eco-friendly device and builds on the leadership Sprint established with Samsung Reclaim. The LG Remarq was announced on March 22, 2010, just 6 months following the release of Samsung Reclaim, demonstrating Sprint’s commitment to green product leadership – now in partnership with two different manufacturers.

LG Remarq is an attractive and affordable messaging device with a full sliding QWERTY keyboard featuring a 1.3 MP camera, MP3 player with microSD card slot (supports up to 16GB), Stereo Bluetooth wireless technology and instant messaging. The LG Remarq is the first device offered through Sprint that incorporates the use of recycled plastic in its casing (19.7%) and has the highest recyclability rate of the four devices (87%). This is LG’s first eco-friendly device offering in the United States.

Remarq’s environmental attributes include:

  • Reduction of certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS) compliant
  • Low levels of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), phthalates, brominated flame retardants (BFRs) (restricted to the chipset) and beryllium
  • Casing contains 19.7% post-consumer recycled plastics
  • 87% recyclable, based on weight
  • ENERGY STAR Version 2.0 qualified energy efficient charger (level V) with standby power loss <30mW
  • Sustainable packaging – 100% recyclable materials, 87% post-consumer materials (PCM) in the brown craft paper cardboard box, interior phone tray contains 100% PCM, all printing done with soy inks, online user guide with abbreviated guide in box
  • Eco-calculator application, helping user calculate their carbon emissions
  • Postage-paid envelop to recycle customer’s old device
