Climate Change

Sprint understands that climate change is a critical issue and that reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions is an important goal. As a large corporation with thousands of locations throughout the United States, Sprint has the opportunity to both reduce its own emissions and help others reduce their emissions through Sprint products and services. By 2017, Sprint has committed to absolutely reduce its GHG emissions by 20 percent and increase its use of renewable energy to 10 percent. In addition, as part of its membership in the respected World Wildlife Fund Climate Savers Program, Sprint has agreed to work with suppliers to measure, report and reduce supplier emissions, find opportunities to reduce the charging emissions associated with mobile phone use, to develop and promote communications solutions that help others reduce their own emissions. Sprint's strategy for reducing its GHG emissions is straightforward — reduce demand for electricity, promote energy efficiency, and expand the use of renewable and alternative-energy sources.
