Sprint has been a proud supporter of the United Way for more than 20 years. During that time, Sprint and Sprint employees have donated more than $56 million to the United Way.
The annual Sprint United Way employee–giving campaign is a nationwide celebration and a prime example of our employees' generosity. During the United Way campaign, employees use their creativity to raise funds through many different programs – bake sales, online auctions and even a tricycle race for Sprint executives on the Sprint Overland Park, Kan., headquarters campus!
In 2011, Sprint employees, together with the Sprint Foundation, donated $2.4 million to United Way agencies across the country. Because of this, agencies are able to help people in all of our communities, from coast to coast.
Sprint employees also commit their time and talents to helping the United Way and its agencies. Sara Robb, payment channel manager–Sprint Treasury Operations, is a volunteer on the United Way Allocation Committee in Kansas City. "As an Allocations Volunteer you are assigned to a group that reviews 8–12 agencies and their programs. Your group has an opportunity to meet with and interview these agencies and then decide how to allocate funds. I ended up getting exposure to several United Way agencies and their wonderful programs that assist the people in our community," said Sara.
