Sprint's Type 2D Operator Services Interconnection allows you to connect directly to a Sprint Operator Services Switch (OSS). A Sprint OSS is a tandem switch with operator services call processing. The Sprint OSS provides alternate billed services, directory assistance services including Directory Assistance with Call Completion, and general assistance services.
The nature and range of services accessed by the Type 2D Interconnection are determined by mutual agreement between Sprint and your company. The Type 2D connection described here does not include the services accessed by that interconnection.
The Type 2D interconnection supports Multi-Frequency (MF) and Signaling System - 7 Common Channel Signaling/Signaling System 7 (CCS/SS7) signaling; however, interconnection to the Sprint OSS requires MF, Feature Group D (FGD) signaling.
