Product Details

Sprint's Gateway SONET is a shared service utilizing ring network architecture to connect your Point-of-Presence (POP) to your end-user customers. The service provides facility redundancy and fault-tolerance in the event of a facility or equipment failure. It is available at speeds of Optical Carrier level 12 (OC12) and Optical Carrier level 48 (OC48) speeds and essentially replaces existing linear Digital Signal, level One (DS1), Digital Signal, level Three (DS3) and Optical Carrier level 3 (OC3) special access service.

Gateway SONET is a flat-rated service consisting of two rate components:

  • Entrance Connection - connects your POP(s) to one or two POP Service Wiring Center(s) (SWCs).
  • End-User Connection - connects the POP SWC(s) to your end-user customers utilizing the Gateway SONET ring.
  • You have the option to provide your own terminal equipment for a reduced rate, or to request that Sprint Local Telecommunications Division (LTD) provide the terminal equipment.

Gateway SONET service is available in most Nevada locations and in Tallahassee, Florida at the present time.

This service requires a minimum commitment of 337 DS1 equivalent circuits at all times.
