Product Details

Network Interface Devices (NIDs) are often small devices located at the junction between an end-user's internal wiring and the external drop as protection from excessive voltage. NIDs are available in 1-line, 2-line, or smart jack configurations. NIDs ensure network integrity and maintain proper interconnection.

Sprint's NIDs connect loop facilities to inside wiring at an end-user customer's premises. The NID is either already in place or can be installed at your customer's premises, reducing the cost of deploying and maintaining your own device. Sprint's NID provides a protective ground connection and is capable of terminating cables such as twisted pair cable.

The Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) shall, at it's own expense, provide a NID to connect its own loops to its end-user customer's inside wiring. The CLEC may use the end-user side of the Sprint NID to access the inside wire.

Business Applications

Sprint's Network Interface Devices (NIDs) maintain connectivity between your end-user customer's inside wiring and the local loop in order to provide them with voice and data services.
