Line Information Database Storage

Back to Products & Solutions

Overview

Sprint's Line Information Database (LIDB) Storage service lets you leverage your telephone number billing restriction information into additional revenue. Operator Service Providers (OSPs), Interexchange Carriers (IXCs) and Local Exchange Carriers (LECs) access Sprint's LIDB for alternate billing number verification. Sprint lets you share in that revenue.

By storing line information in Sprint's LIDB, you may:

  • Help protect your end-user customers from fraud since their billing restriction information becomes available to more service providers.
  • Increase your revenue potential since LIDB information can be updated to the database in a single data feed along with your Calling Name (CNAM) information.

Features & Benefits

  • No need for you to invest in capital equipment, operating support, or securing agreements to earn query revenue from database dips - saves on expenditures and increases revenue opportunities. LIDB Storage revenue is high-margin, recurring month after month.
  • Daily or weekly data updates can be received electronically through PC file transfers or mainframe-to-mainframe - means responsive data administration. Once set up, the product runs with a minimum of ongoing maintenance
  • Sprint performs emergency updating over the phone immediately, and typically processes regular updates within 24 hours of receipt. Our staff is there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to assist you in your business needs - means excellent customer service for you.
  • Sprint's LIDB fully meets industry standards for call processing throughput, storage volume capacity, fault tolerance and redundancy - provides high capacity and reliability.
  • LIDB data can be transferred in a single interface along with Calling Name database (CNAM) information - lets you optimize your operational efficiency and revenue opportunity

Product Details

With Sprint's Line Information Database (LIDB) Storage service, Sprint's end-user telephone numbers and billing restriction settings are stored in Sprint's LIDB along with those of a variety of other companies like you who use Sprint as their database provider. Sprint's LIDB is used by service providers to validate whether or not billing restrictions (no collect or no bill-to-third) have been placed on alternate billing numbers presented to them by their end-user customers.

LIDB Access customers are typically Operator Service Providers (OSPs), Interexchange Carriers (IXCs) and Local Exchange Carriers (LECs). They pay Sprint for each database inquiry. Sprint, in turn, shares a portion of that revenue with you.

Business Applications

Sprint's Line Information Database (LIDB) Storage service allows alternate billing number restriction information to become available to a wider selection of service providers. You improve your end-user customers' protection from fraudulent charges.

This product leverages your end-user customer information to provide operator service providers with access to billing restriction information. Once the information is loaded in the LIDB database, service providers are ready to generate revenue for you.
