With Sprint's Line Information Database (LIDB) Access service, you can get quick, accurate validation of billing numbers associated with alternate-billed calls, letting you minimize fraud before it impacts your end-user customers.

Sprint's LIDB database contains billing restriction information for all of Sprint's customers, plus several other Local Exchange Carriers (LECs) and wireless companies. And all data retrieval and delivery can be obtained through Sprint's reliable CCS/SS7 network or your CCS/SS7 network provider.

With Sprint's LIDB Access service, you may:

  • Quickly validate calling card, collect and third-number-billed calls.
  • Rely on Sprint's network and database support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Features & Benefits

  • Access via the CCS/SS7 network - allows you access through your CCS/SS7 network provider or you may choose an access point closest to your switch(es).
  • Sprint supports industry-standard CCS/SS7 signaling technology - allows quick validation of calling card, collect and third-number-billed calls.
  • Sprint monitors the database and its activity 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - minimizes fraudulent activity and provides you with a place to call if you have problems.

Product Details

Sprint operates and maintains a Line Information Database (LIDB) Access containing the calling card and alternate billing number restrictions of Sprint's Local Telecommunications Division (LTD) and a variety of other companies' end users. You can access this database when a calling card is used or when a caller attempts to place a bill-to-third or collect call using a billing number in the Sprint network.

When you route a call with a special billing request (e.g., to a calling card number), a query is launched to Sprint's LIDB database through the CCS/SS7 network. The database returns a response confirming the validity of the billing number. That response is then analyzed to determined how to treat the call.

Here is how it works:

Business Applications

  • With Sprint's Line Information Database (LIDB) Access service, you reduce your exposure to fraud and support alternate billing options while enhancing your end-user customers' confidence and loyalty.
  • Sprint's CCS/SS7 product portfolio allows for one-stop-shopping for all database needs including access to Caller ID Names (CNAM), Toll-Free Code (800), and Local Number Portability (LNP).
