With Sprint's Line Information Database (LIDB) Access service, you can get quick, accurate validation of billing numbers associated with alternate-billed calls, letting you minimize fraud before it impacts your end-user customers.
Sprint's LIDB database contains billing restriction information for all of Sprint's customers, plus several other Local Exchange Carriers (LECs) and wireless companies. And all data retrieval and delivery can be obtained through Sprint's reliable CCS/SS7 network or your CCS/SS7 network provider.
With Sprint's LIDB Access service, you may:
Sprint operates and maintains a Line Information Database (LIDB) Access containing the calling card and alternate billing number restrictions of Sprint's Local Telecommunications Division (LTD) and a variety of other companies' end users. You can access this database when a calling card is used or when a caller attempts to place a bill-to-third or collect call using a billing number in the Sprint network.
When you route a call with a special billing request (e.g., to a calling card number), a query is launched to Sprint's LIDB database through the CCS/SS7 network. The database returns a response confirming the validity of the billing number. That response is then analyzed to determined how to treat the call.
