How to Upgrade or Replace Your Device or Add a New Mobile Broadband Card or MiFi

Advantage Club subscribers are eligible for upgrades under the Sprint New for You program, every 20 months.

Account-impacting transactions, including establishing new lines of service and purchasing device upgrades or replacements, must be completed by your employee sponsor. This is due to account liability being in the employee's name.

If you are not currently an Advantage Club subscriber and want to become one, or if you are already a subscriber and want to upgrade or replace your device or add a mobile broadband card or MiFi to your account, please contact your employee sponsor to complete your transaction.

Your employee sponsor may:

  • Visit one of the following stores: Reston Campus store, Overland Park Campus store or Town Center Plaza store (Overland Park, Kansas)
  • Shop online on the Advantage Club Web site

To help with the online purchasing process, your employee sponsor can send you an invitation to shop on the Advantage Club web site. You can then submit your order to your employee sponsor for their approval.

In order for your employee sponsor to give you access to the Advantage Club Order Request Site, they should type 'advantageclub' in their browser at work, and then select 'Invite your friends or family members to shop'.

Device Pricing

Advantage Club prices are similar to National consumer prices with mail-in rebates and instant discounts. Many devices will have mail-in rebate discounts. You should be sure to agree with your employee sponsor with regard to which of you is paying for the device and handling the rebate. The rebate form will be included in your device shipment. Your employee sponsor can download and mail or e-mail the rebate form to you. Promotional device pricing is only valid if the device remains on the new account for at least 180 days. Lines cancelled in the first 14 days are eligible for a refund per the 14-day risk free guarantee. The account will be charged the difference between the promotional price and the full retail device pricing for all lines cancelled from day 15 to 180.

How to Get Accessories at a 25% Discount

Account Liability

How can Sprint afford to offer this package to employee friends and family? By making the employee liable for each Advantage Club subscriber. By inviting you to join the Advantage Club, your Sprint Employee Sponsor is trusting you to make timely payments on your charges - because if you don't, he or she will be liable for these charges. By making the employee the account owner, however, Sprint is able to offer Advantage Club subscribers significant discounts not available to the general public.

Account Administration

Your Sprint employee sponsor owns your Advantage Club account and will be responsible for current and past-due charges. However, when buying your device or ordering it online, the employee can choose to make you a co-administrator on the account with monthly invoices sent directly to your billing address.

Your employee sponsor can also allow you to manage the account online. To do so, you will need the account number and PIN.

If your employee sponsor provides you with account security information, you will be able to:

  • Register for online account management at sprint.com/mysprint
  • Request billing adjustments
  • Update addresses
  • Add/delete services
  • Change plans
  • View and pay your bill online

Only the employee can:

  • Activate a line of service
  • Upgrade or replace a device
  • Apply or remove the Optional Spending Limit
  • Transfer balance
  • Transfer liability
  • Change security information
  • Change billing name

Billing

All Advantage Club accounts are encouraged to participate in eBill. Accounts receiving a paper bill will be charged $0.99/month. To change your billing preferences, visit www.sprint.com/ebill.

Optional Spending Limit

The Spending Limit is the maximum balance your account can reach at any given time. The Spending Limit provides a preset limit to help control your monthly spend and avoid unexpected charges.

  • Applying a spending limit to an account is completely at the discretion of the Sprint employee.
  • Applies a spending limit of $150 per line on an account.
  • The spending limit pertains to all lines on the account. An account with two lines will have a combined spending limit of $300.
  • There is no additional charge for applying the spending limit to an account.

How it Works:

The Spending Limit pertains to the total balance of all lines on your account, including charges for the following services:

  • Voice minutes
  • Downloads
  • Directory assistance charges
  • Voice and data roaming
  • Other fee-based services

My Sprint

If your employee sponsor agrees, you can manage your account online by registering for My Sprint. There are two registration options: account holder and non-account holder.

To register as the account holder, you will need the account number and PIN. Registering as an account holder will allow you to:

  • View and pay bills online
  • View call details and minutes used
  • Perform service swaps to upgraded devices (upgrade purchases must be completed by the employee)
  • Authorize digital media purchases (ringers and other downloads)
  • Enroll in paperless billing
  • Change account email address

To register as a non-account holder, you only need the account number and mobile number. Registering as a non-account holder will allow you to:

  • View minutes used
  • View phone and plan
  • View phone user guides

Total Equipment Protection

Total Equipment Protection, which covers eligible Sprint phones and data cards, can be added during the shopping process. Enrolled customers are eligible for 3 claims within any 12 consecutive months with a maximum replacement value of $1,500 per claim. Claims for loss, theft or physical or liquid damage are subject to a non-refundable $50-$200 deductible per approved claim, depending on device.

The first two repairs or replacements due to mechanical or electrical failure due to defect or normal wear and tear are included at no additional charge. A $25 service fee applies for each subsequent in-store repair or replacement within a consecutive 12-month period. You may cancel your optional coverage at any time and receive a prorated refund/credit. Replacement equipment may be new or a Sprint certified remanufactured device and/or a comparable model.

Total Equipment Protection is a service provided by Asurion Protection Services, LLC, Continental Casualty Company's (a CNA company) licensed agent for the customers of Sprint. A non-refundable deductible applies per approved replacement for lost, stolen, or damaged devices. Limits of three (3) claims for lost, stolen, or damaged devices within any consecutive 12 months and a maximum of $1,500 per claim apply. Replacement equipment may be new or reconditioned and/or a comparable model. Customer may cancel coverage at any time and receive a pro-rated credit of unused premium.

What to Do If You Have a Problem with Your Device

Customers enrolled in Total Equipment Protection or Equipment Service and Repair Program are eligible for service and repair at no additional charge for the first two repairs; there is a $25 fee for each subsequent in-store repair or exchange within a 12-month period.

Without a protection program, you can still resolve incidents at a Sprint Phone Repair Center.

  • Visit one of over 1,800 Sprint Phone Repair Centers. Visit sprint.com/storelocator for locations.
  • Three to four business day turnaround time (not all devices eligible).
  • Per-incident service fee of $75 charged without Total Equipment Protection or Equipment Service and Repair Program. Technical consultants will determine eligibility for a phone repair covered by the $75 service fee.

If you lose your device, it is stolen, or is subject to physical or liquid damage:

  • If you have TEP, go to sprint.com/protection to file a claim to have your device replaced. A non-refundable $50-$200 deductible per approved claim, depending on device, will apply. TEP may help you avoid paying full retail price for a replacement device.
