How to Upgrade or Replace Your Device or Add a Line to Your Account

Advantage Club subscribers are eligible for upgrades under the Sprint New for You program, every 20 months.

Account-impacting transactions, including establishing new lines of service and purchasing device upgrades or replacements, must be completed by your employee sponsor. This is due to account liability being in the employee's name.

If you are not currently an Advantage Club subscriber and want to become one, or if you are already a subscriber and want to upgrade or replace your device or add a line, please contact your employee sponsor to complete your transaction.

Your employee sponsor may:

  • Visit one of the following stores: Reston Campus store, Overland Park Campus store, Town Center Plaza store (Leawood, Kansas), or Prairiefire store (Overland Park, Kansas)
  • Shop online on the Advantage Club Web site

To help with the online purchasing process, your employee sponsor can send you an invitation to shop on the Advantage Club web site. You can then submit your order to your employee sponsor for their approval.

In order for your employee sponsor to give you access to the Advantage Club Order Request Site, they should type 'advantageclub' in their browser at work, and then select 'Invite your friends or family members to shop'.

Device Pricing

Advantage Club prices are similar to National consumer prices with mail-in rebates and instant discounts. Many devices will have mail-in rebate discounts. You should be sure to agree with your employee sponsor with regard to which of you is paying for the device and handling the rebate. The rebate form will be included in your device shipment. Your employee sponsor can download and mail or e-mail the rebate form to you. Promotional device pricing is only valid if the device remains on the new account for at least 180 days. Lines cancelled in the first 14 days are eligible for a refund per the 14-day risk free guarantee. The account will be charged the difference between the promotional price and the full retail device pricing for all lines cancelled from day 15 to 180.

Account Liability

How can Sprint afford to offer such a great deal to employee friends and family? By making the employee liable for each Advantage Club subscriber. Your Sprint employee sponsor is trusting you to make timely payments on your charges, because if you don't, he or she will be liable for these charges. By making the employee the account owner, however, Sprint is able to offer Advantage Club subscribers significant discounts not available to the general public.

Account Administration

Your employee sponsor owns your Advantage Club account and will be responsible for all current and past-due charges. However, they can choose to have monthly invoices sent directly to you (the subscriber) and in so doing make you a co-administrator on the account.

Your Sprint employee sponsor can set up the account with your address as the billing address at the time they buy your device or place your device order online. Your employee sponsor can also allow you to manage the account online. To do so, you will need the account number and PIN. It is the employee's decision whether or not to provide this security information to you (the subscriber).

If your employee sponsor provides you with account security information, you will be able to make most types of account changes, including:

  • Register for online account management at sprint.com/mysprint
  • Requests for billing adjustments
  • Billing address changes
  • Add/delete services
  • Change plans
  • View and pay your bill online

Only the employee sponsor can make the following changes, regardless of whether or not they have given you security information:

  • Order/purchase an upgrade or replacement
  • Activate a line of service
  • Apply or remove an account spending limit
  • Balance transfer
  • Transfer of liability
  • Change security information
  • Change billing name

Billing

eBill is required for all Advantage Club accounts. Accounts receiving a paper bill will be charged $0.99/month. Please go to sprint.com/ebill to set billing settings. You will need the account PIN and security information.

Optional Spending Limit

The Spending Limit is the maximum balance your account can reach at any given time. The Spending Limit provides a preset limit to help control your monthly spend and avoid unexpected charges.

  • Applying a spending limit to an account is completely at the discretion of the Sprint employee.
  • Applies a spending limit of $150 per line on an account.
  • The spending limit pertains to all lines on the account. An account with two lines will have a combined spending limit of $300.
  • There is no additional charge for applying the spending limit to an account.

How it Works:

The Spending Limit pertains to the total balance of all lines on your account, including charges for the following services:

  • Voice minutes
  • Downloads
  • Directory assistance charges
  • Voice and data roaming
  • Other fee-based services

Device Protection Programs

Sprint encourages all subscribers to enroll in one of the Device Protection programs offered by Sprint. Sprint offers coverage for the many things that can happen to your device and security for virtually everything on it – from loss or theft to damage, mechanical and electrical failures and threats to your personal information. You must enroll within 30 days of activation. If you are a potential new Advantage Club subscriber, please make sure your employee sponsor signs you up for the coverage of your choice when they order your device.

Total Equipment Protection provides complete protection for your phone, smartphone or mobile broadband device for $8 or $11 per month, depending on the device. Total Equipment Protection Plus provides all the benefits of Total Equipment Protection, plus automatic back up of photos and videos, virus protection and premium support for your phone and what is connected to it for $13 per month. A non-refundable deductible of $50 to $200 (depending on device) applies per approved insurance claim for lost, stolen or damaged. There is limit of three claims for lost, stolen or physical damage within a 12-month period, and a maximum of $1,500 per approved claim applies. Replacement equipment may be a new or Sprint-certified remanufactured device/comparable model. You may cancel your optional coverage at any time and receive a prorated refund/credit. You may sign up instead for the Equipment Service and Repair Program for $5/month/device. New York residents only can purchase the Equipment Replacement Program as a standalone program for $5 or $9/month (depending on device model)/month/device. Assurant Advanced Protection Pack provides protection for tablets, netbooks and notebooks. The Protection Pack is the best value at $13 per month. However, you may enroll in Assurant Device Insurance (ADI) for $10/month/device or Assurant Device Service and Support for $6/month/device. Residents of AL, CO, ID, IN, KS, ME, WI or WY: Your monthly cost of $13 includes coverage for mechanical and electrical breakdown, accidental damage (including liquid damage) and data- protection features. Loss and theft coverage is provided by Sprint at no additional cost to you. ADI is not available as a standalone product in any of these states. A $100 nonrefundable deductible per approved loss, theft and accidental damage claim applies; there is no deductible for mechanical and electrical breakdown. There is limit of three approved claims for accidental damage, loss or theft within a 12-month period, and a maximum of $1,500 applies per approved claim applies.

There is no limit on number of mechanical and electrical breakdown claims. If the claim involves a damaged or malfunctioning device, you will be provided with detailed instructions on how to return the device. We will make a reasonable effort to repair your device. If your device cannot be repaired, it will be replaced with a Sprint-certified remanufactured device of a comparable model. If a reconditioned device is not available, the replacement will be a new device of a comparable type.

You may cancel your optional coverage at any time by calling 888-211-4727. Upon cancellation, you will receive a prorated refund and/or credit of any unearned premium/fee within the applicable timeframe required by law. Visit assurantprotection.com for Summary of Coverage.

Have a problem with your device? Here's what to do

For phones, smartphones or mobile broadband cards:

If you have a mechanical/electrical problem, failure from normal wear and tear or need routine phone maintenance, go to a Sprint Phone Repair Center to have your device repaired or replaced.

  • If you have Total Equipment Protection Plus, Total Equipment Protection, or the Equipment Service & Repair Program (ESRP) on your account, your first two repair/exchange transactions are included at no additional charge. A $25 service fee applies to each subsequent repair or exchange in any consecutive 12-month period.
  • If you do not have a device protection program listed above, you will receive a quote for the cost of repair before work is begun
  • Visit sprint.com/storelocator to find a store near you.

For tablets, netbooks or notebooks:

  • If you have Assurant Advanced Protection Pack, contact Assurant for all technical needs at assurantprotection.com or 1-866-367-7807.

What to do if you lose your device, or if it is stolen or subjected to accidental damage

For phones, smartphones or mobile broadband cards:

  • If you have Total Equipment Protection or Total Equipment Protection Plus, call Asurion at 1-800- 584-3666 or visit sprint.com/protection to file a claim to have your device replaced. There is a non-refundable deductible of up to $200 (depending on device model). Check for your model's deductible amount at http://www.phoneclaim.com/sprint and clicking on "My Deductible".
  • If you do not have Total Equipment Protection or Total Equipment Protection Plus and are not eligible for an upgrade, you will need to purchase another device at full cost.

For tablets, netbooks/notebooks or other embedded devices:

  • If you have the Protection Pack, call Assurant at 1-866-367-7807 or visit assurantprotection.com to file a claim to have your device replaced. There is a $100 non-refundable deductible.
  • If you do not have the Protection Pack, you will need to purchase another device at full cost.
