Samsung M400 - an easy-to-use flip phone
Sprint worked with Samsung to offer the Samsung M400, which has accessibility features designed to meet the needs of senior citizens. The hearing aid compatible flip phone is easy to use and is practical for those who simply want to talk, take pictures or send text messages.
The Samsung M400 will also appeal to more technologically savvy users. Highlights include a 1.3-megapixel camera, Web browsing, Bluetooth® support for hands-free conversations, threaded text messaging, a voice memo recorder and a 1,000mAh battery with up to four hours of talk time.
Sprint Family Locator is a built-in lifestyle application on the phone that allows family or trusted caregivers to locate loved ones without disturbing their activities. The application uses GPS technology to locate a phone and display its location on an interactive map.
The M400 has a 2.4-inch internal display, large dial pad buttons and emergency settings to call 911 and selected ICE (In Case of Emergency) contacts.

Active Senior ID pack
Available on select Android™-powered smartphones on Sprint and Boost Mobile USA, the Active Senior ID pack provides quick access to applications designed to enhance the smartphone experience for the active senior – all bundled in a single, simple download.
To get started, users tap on the yellow and black Sprint ID icon on the bottom of their Sprint ID-capable Android smartphones and select the Active Senior ID icon.
The phone will download about 20 senior-friendly applications and services, eliminating the confusion often associated with searching an app store that contains more than 600,000 applications.
Applications in the pack allow seniors to:
- Listen to music with Slacker Radio or audio books with Audible
- Access information from AARP, WebMD, USA Today, Yahoo Finance, AccuWeather and Stock Quote
- Remember through MedsTimer to take important medications on time
- Stay safe with Fall Detector and ICE (In Case of Emergency)
- Receive word-for-word captions of everything said to them on mobile phone calls with Wireless CapTel by Sprint
- Be entertained and socialize with Crossword Light and Senior Match
- Keep in touch with family and friends through Flickr and Facebook
