Sprint Education Grant Programs

Sprint Ahead for Education - National Grant Program for Character Education

Sprint and the Sprint Foundation are committed to supporting K–12 education initiatives within the focus area of character education.  Beginning March 3, 2008 the Sprint Foundation will launch a national education grant program called Sprint Ahead for Education. The program is open to all US public schools (K-12) and US public school districts and will provide grant funding to support character education programs.

The Sprint Ahead for Education Grant program will accept applications for funding for character education programs promoting leadership, youth volunteerism, character education school pride and a positive school culture. Grants will fund the purchase of resource materials, supplies, equipment and software that facilitates character education for K-12 students.  Examples of programs that the Sprint Foundation will fund include:

  • Costs associated with hosting a youth leadership conference
  • Character education curriculum and character education teacher training
  • Direct project related costs for community service/service learning programs
  • School improvement projects that serve to enhance and build school pride
