Enterprise Mobile Data Solutions

Back to Wireless Applications

Sprint Business Mobility Framework(SM) provides a network gateway interface defined by the Parlay X Web Services standard, enabling fast and seamless integration of business applications with Sprint network services. The Sprint solution offers the flexibility to deploy new or existing applications. With features such as location, presence, and message, these capabilities offer:

Location—Provides cell sector, latitude/longitude, and location of mobile devices with multiple levels of precision. A geo fencing feature is also available.

Presence—End-user device status always available in real time.

Notification—Intelligent short message service (SMS) alerts through any device within the enterprise application. Messages can be based on business processes or event triggers.

Pre-tested software—Sprint and your systems integrator of choice work together to ensure that leading middleware solutions work out-of-the-box for Sprint devices.

Integrated developer environment—Sprint network capabilities are embedded in the development environment, making it simple for existing developers to incorporate Sprint capabilities into current and future enterprise applications using open standard Web services (ParlayX).

Differentiation—Sprint is the only U.S. carrier to have a toolkit pre-integrated to application servers for accelerated application development. Our handsets are pre-certified with middleware, resulting in accelerated implementation for the enterprise customer.

How it Works

  1. The customer develops applications based on their specific requirements or purchases an application that has already been certified on the Sprint network. Application categories choices are Field Service Automation, Fleet Management, Field Force Management, Asset Management & Tracking, and Application Developer. Several leading vendors have certified their applications on the Sprint network to allow for easy integration.
  2. The customer or partner integrates the application on the Sprint network via a secure SSL connection. The application developers may also choose to host the applications at their site as long as they maintain a secure connection to the Sprint network.
  3. The customer then purchases or utilizes existing GPS-enabled handsets or other telemetry devices.

Once the integration is complete, a customer purchases individual Sprint Business Mobility Framework services, based on the application requirements and the frequency of use.
